Adult Application

Online Adult Leader Application Process

Our council charges an additional fee for any paper applications at this point. Therefore we will use onliine applications for all adult and youth.

To register for an adult leadership process other than Merit Badge Counselor complete the following steps.

  1. Sign in or create an account on my.scouting.org

  2. Complete Youth Protection Training. There is a prominent link to guide you to this in the upper right corner of the my.scouting.org page.

  3. Once this is completed contact Troop 77 Committee Chair, Dave Forseth, so that you can be sent an application invitation email. Note you could also reach the application process by going to beascout.org finding Troop 77, and applying from there. However, we'd prefer you contact the Committee Chair first so we can discuss Troop needs and which roles you may be willing to fill.

  4. From the invitation link select Adult Application and complete the online application steps. For adults there is a $42 (soon to increase to $48) annual fee. We will ask you to pay the initial and then likely subsequent years. Note the Troop may cover following years for those serving in a position we must always fill including Scoutmaster, Committee Chair, Advancement Chair (Commitee Member), and Treasurer (Commitee Member).

  5. Once you've completed the online steps Troop leadership will review and approve the application.

Merit Badge Counselor Application

Merit Badge Counselors are actually applying to the council rather than to a unit position. Typically you will spend your time within our unit, but if you are willing can also serve as a counselor for any Scout in the Grand Canyon Council. This is more likely on some of the more rare Merit Badges that many Troops may not have an adult with expertise.

The MB Counselor process is well laid out at this link provided by the Grand Canyon Council. You will be required to complete Youth Protection Training as well as a MB Counselor training course.
